A rainy Sunday here in the Northeast. Good for finishing projects. An hour on the treadmill, half walking, half running. And I just completed 45-minutes of yoga, which leaves me feeling so peaceful, that full-body hum. I love the way yoga brings me back to lungs, spine, muscle. Breath. Connection.
In the spirit of self-care, I don’t think I’m going to watch the debate in real time tonight. I may leave it for tomorrow. And let me leave you, dear readers, with yogi master Erich Schiffmann’s beautiful Savasana meditation.
“The technique is simple. Keep it simple. All you do is relax everywhere. And be aware of how you feel. Eyes closed, eyes soft. All the muscles around each eye very relaxed. As your eyes relax, let the relaxation spread so there’s no holding anywhere. Let go so much that you feel wide open like the sky. Get very quiet. Very still. Undefended. And see what happens. Feel the energy you’re made of. For love is what’s left when you let go of everything you don’t need. Feel it now. Let this become the new normal. Enjoy this part.”
